FedEx St. Jude Recap

After the dramatic finish this past weekend in Memphis, the remaining Top-70 golfers head to the BMW Championship for the second round of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Young phenom Will Zalatoris finally broke through to claim his first professional victory, and the win vaulted him into the top spot of the current standings 🗣

The other drama from this past week revolves around the LIV vs. PGA Tour saga. Rumor has it that world No. 2 Cameron Smith is leaving the Tour to join LIV, and as fate would have it, a day later he was assessed a two-stroke penalty for improperly playing his ball 😬

Many believed he would be a favorite coming into this week, but in the never-ending storyline, Cam Smith has now withdrawn from the BMW with a mysterious back injury...

More to come on this as we progress throughout the week, but for now, our focus is on the remaining 70 golfers all hoping to advance to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta for the final round of the playoffs 🏆

BMW Championship Preview

Wilmington Country Club in Delaware will make its debut as a host for a PGA Tour event, and it will do so in the second to last tournament of the year 🏌️‍♂️

  • As mentioned, only 70 golfers will be competing this week in a no-cut event, which means everyone will be playing all four rounds

  • The Top-30 left at the conclusion will head to the PGA Tour finals next week

📍 Wilmington Country Club Notes:

  • 7,534-yard par-71

  • Founded in 1902, it is often rated the No. 1 course in the state of Delaware

  • A lengthy, tree-lined course that will favor long and accurate drivers 💪

With this event only allowing the Top-70 golfers in the standings, all of the big names will be in attendance. Because of this, the betting odds are very congested at the top of the board 👇

BMW Championship Betting Odds (subject to change)

  • Rory McIlroy: +1000 (bet $100, win $1,000)

  • Patrick Cantlay, Jon Rahm & Will Zalatoris: +1400

  • Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Tony Finau & Scottie Scheffler: +1600

  • Collin Morikawa & Sam Burns: +1800

Once again, Rory McIlory finds himself alone at the top. He will look to bounce back after missing last week's cut, but with odds of only 10/1, there will be some golfers further down the board that offer better value 💰

Outright Value Options

The collection of golfers at +1600 look like enticing options to capture the title this week. There are some big names, as well as players in great form 👇

  • Tony Finau is arguably the hottest golfer on tour right now, with two wins in the past three weeks

  • Scottie Scheffler is still ranked as the No. 1 golfer in the official world golf rankings

  • Justin Thomas is always a threat in big events, proven by his major victory earlier this year

  • Matthew Fitzpatrick recently claimed the US Open title, and since then has added even more distance to his driver 👀

If you're looking to place some bets on golfers to win this week, this collection offers great value and big-name appeal to go with it ⛳️
