🏈 NCAAF Rivalry Week Is Here

Ohio State-Michigan at the Big House with both a Big Ten title berth and CFP spot at stake? Sure. Bo Nix's Heisman case put to the test as Oregon takes on Oregon State. Why not. The college football season may be ending, but at least it's ending in style 😎 (3 min read)

One More Week

It’s hard to believe it’s already the last week of the college football regular season. I mean, it feels like just yesterday that Coach Prime and the Buffaloes were ranked 18th in the country, and now…here we are 😬

Apologies to any Colorado fans reading this who just caught a stray 😂 — this season has truly been a wild ride. And as of last night, for some teams, that ride has now come to an end. Action is officially underway in college football’s “Rivalry Week”, and with it comes one last chance for teams to alter their destiny before postseason play 👀

  • Best of all, to say this year’s playoff field is still unsettled would be underselling it. In the latest of the edition of the CFP rankings, the top-10 is nearly filled to the brim with undefeated and one-loss teams, all with legitimate cases for an invite 👀

As is always the case this week, there’s too many juicy matchups going down to touch on all of ‘em, but at the very least, there’s two top-15 showdowns with massive playoff implications that deserve your undivided attention 👇

  • Spread: Michigan -3.5

  • Moneyline: Michigan -152, Ohio State +126

  • Over/Under: 45.5

  • When: Saturday 12PM on FOX

No surprise here — once again, the sport’s biggest rivalry takes center stage. And in the 119th meeting between the two storied programs, the stakes couldn’t be much higher 😎

First and foremost, there’s bragging rights on the line between two teams and fanbases that absolutely despise each other. If you need a refresher, the Buckeyes have largely dominated the rivalry since 2000, but the Wolverines have won the last two in a row ⚡️

  • But more importantly, the winner of Saturday’s game also wins the Big Ten East, earning a chance to play Iowa in the conference title game. And even more importantly than that, the winner also all but cements their spot in the CFP, while the loser would be left needing serious help to sneak back in

As the visiting team in an always hostile Big House, Ohio State is an understandable underdog, but they seem to be peaking at the right time, outscoring their last two opponents 75-6. That could spell trouble for J.J. McCarthy and a Michigan team that isn’t as battle-tested as you might expect, having played just one ranked team all season 😳

  • Spread: Oregon -13.5

  • Moneyline: Oregon -480, Oregon State +360

  • Over/Under: 61.5

  • When: Friday 8:30PM on FOX

Next let’s head out to the West Coast, where Heisman favorite (+110) Bo Nix and the Ducks can both boost their respective resumes with an huge in-state matchup against the Beavers 🦆

  • We talked about Nix’s emerging Heisman case last week, and all he did on Saturday was bolster it with an electric 6-TD performance 🔥

Nix will have his work cut out for him holding off LSU’s Jayden Daniels for the award (+140), but another big performance against an impressive Oregon State team could go a long way towards swaying voters. Additionally, a win would cement Oregon’s spot in the PAC-12 title game against #5 Washington, with the winner of that highly-anticipated rematch very likely headed to the CFP 👀

What a weekend we have in front of us. I hope you all enjoy your holidays and get some quality time on the couch 🛋

  • Ohio State +3.5 vs. Michigan: -112
