Updates From Augusta National

Itโ€™s not very often we touch on golf, but this weekend certainly qualifies as a special occasion. A tradition unlike any other is here, and if you arenโ€™t tossing some change on a couple Masters outright winners, you simply ainโ€™t doing it right ๐Ÿ˜œ

  • The first round of this yearโ€™s tournament is already in the books (take a look at the full leaderboard here), and if you haven't seen this guy's updates you're missing out

Tiger Woods is obviously the sport's most popular attraction, but he finished day one at a disappointing +2. This was his best run of the day โ›ณ๏ธ

Two golfers with legit pro resumes โ€” Will Zalatoris and Kevin Na โ€” have already withdrawn, and several other big names including Bryson DeChambeau, Louis Oosthuizen, and 2017 champ Sergio Garcia (coincidentally all LIV players) find themselves above par and in the danger zone heading into cut day ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

  • Rory McIlroy, last year's runner-up, entered play as a co-favorite to capture his first Masters victory, the only major missing from his trophy case. But he dealt with his fair share of opening round struggles as well, ultimately finishing at even ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

McIlroyโ€™s sluggish start is just one of the major shake-ups at the top of the outright odds board. With Round 2โ€™s first group set to tee off right about now, hereโ€™s an updated look at the favorites for this yearโ€™s green jacket ๐Ÿ‘‡

Odds to Win the 2023 Mastersย (subject to change)

  • Jon Rahm: +340 (bet $100 to win $350)

  • Scottie Scheffler: +500

  • Brooks Koepka: +750

  • Viktor Hovland: +1000

  • Jason Day: +1300

  • Cameron Young: +1700

  • Jordan Spieth: +2100

  • Rory McIlroy: +2100

  • Tiger Woods: +65000

He may not find himself on any list of contenders, but I gotta give a quick shoutout to 23-year-old Sam Bennett, who just had one of the best amateur rounds we've ever seen in Augusta ๐Ÿ™Œ

Trivia Question: Aside from Tiger and Phil Mickelson, who is the only other golfer with multiple Masters' victories since 2000?

Hot Picks

With outright winner lines available all weekend long, it's never too late to hop on a bandwagon. Not sure who to throw your support behind? Here's what you need to know about some of the trendiest picks โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ Jon Rahm: +350

The new favorite Jon Rahm finds himself tied atop the leaderboard after day one, and he might be there on his own if it werenโ€™t for one of the worst starts imaginable ๐Ÿ˜ซ

The big Spaniard was absolutely locked in from that point on, shooting a blistering -9 on his next 17 holes, which is great news for a guy who got him at +900 at the start of the tournament ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ“ Scottie Scheffler: +490

The reigning champ and the world's top-ranked player, it's no wonder why Scottie Scheffler entered the tournament as a co-favorite alongside McIlroy

  • We haven't seen a Masters repeat since Tiger in '01 and '02, but after a business-as-usual -5 in the first round, Scheffler is right in the mix once again ๐Ÿ˜ค

๐Ÿ“ Brooks Koepka: +750

Members of the controversial LIV tour will likely face additional scrutiny all weekend long, but Round 1 co-leader Brooks Koepka looked more than ready for the challenge ๐Ÿ’ช

The 4-time major winner was a runner-up here back in 2019, and as we saw yesterday, he's a serious threat once again ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿ“ Cameron Young: +1700

If you're on the bolder side and in the market for a guy with a bit more juice, may I present Cameron Young. One of my pre-tourney picks, a great opening round (-5) has me feeling even more confident

  • The 2022 PGA ROTY has yet to win a major in his young career, but he finished top-3 at both the PGA Championship and the Open Championship last year ๐Ÿ“ˆ

๐Ÿ“ Tiger Woods: +65000

C'mon, you know I had to throw the Tiger line on here. A $10 lottery ticket could turn into $6,500 if the 15-time major winner has some vintage magic left in the tank. Are ya feeling lucky? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

For My Parlay Gurus

Well, we obviously can't parlay multiple Masters winners, but there's some great value to be found in the finishing position market. Rahm is still my pick to win it all, but I think Scheffler will be breathing down his neck until the bitter end, and I also like Young to finish near the top of the leaderboard. Check out this parlay ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • Scottie Scheffler to finish Top 5: -110

  • Cameron Young to finish Top 10: -155

$100 on this bet would win you $214 โ€” if we hit, make sure you email [email protected] for a chance to win up to $100*. Many will enter, only some will win ๐Ÿ˜‰
