🏈 Jaguars Have Won Three Straight

After a mediocre start to the season, Jacksonville has come alive, rattling off three straight wins. The Saints started 2-0, but have lost three of four since. New Orleans is the slight betting favorite at home, but I like the Jags to grab the road win. Let's break it down 🐆 (2 min read)

Who That?

Ahead of the season I figured a matchup between the Jaguars and the Saints would be one of the juicier TNFs on the schedule. Despite Jacksonville’s favorable record (4-2), they haven’t exactly been world beaters. Lately though, they’ve come alive, riding a three-game win streak into New Orleans. Derek Carr’s shoulder still looked banged up in last week’s loss to the Texans, so who will come out on top? 🔱

Can we talk about Chris Olave? He hasn’t been bad this year, leading the Saints in receiving yards and receptions at 414 and 32 respectively. But he hasn’t been able to find the end zone as effectively, putting up only one TD on the year so far. When he gets the looks though, good things tend to happen 👀

Still, he put up close to 100 receiving yards last week on 7 receptions, and could have some boom possibility against a Jaguars’ secondary that gives up points to WRs. Tank Dell and C.J. Stroud carved them up in Week 3, but believe it or not, Carr is no Stroud 😅

Speaking of QBs, Trevor Lawrence was listed as questionable tonight due to a lingering knee sprain. He’s been limited in practice, but expressed optimism about playing. C.J. Beathard is QB2, so let’s all hope Trevor suits up 😬

Anytime TD scorers is a curse of a bet. On one hand, they always feel right in the moment. But statistically, banking on a single player to score is always going to be a toss up. Unless of course, you’re Travis Etienne, the Jaguars back that refuses to go down 😤

Etienne’s anytime TD prop sit at +110, the lowest odds of any player tonight, and could be a fun leg to throw in any parlay ⚡️

  • Spread: Saints -1.5

  • Moneyline: Saints -118, Jaguars +100

  • Over/Under: 39.5

Trivia Question: When was the last time Trevor Lawrence missed a game in his football career?

For My Parlay Gurus

Simply put, I just do not think the Saints are that good. They have talent in the backfield and out wide, but Carr is too boom/bust for my liking. I’m taking the Jaguars to win, but I am wary of the possibility that Carr gets enough attempts up to let his offensive weapons make a play. Also reprising my Etienne agenda, check it out 👇

  • Jaguars ML @ Saints: +100

  • Travis Etienne Anytime TD scorer: +110
