Primetime TNF Duel

Tonight’s installment of Thursday Night Football features a matchup between two of the NFL’s most legendary franchises. The 49ers look like one of the NFL’s most well-rounded squad, with an array of elite playmakers across both the offensive and defensive units. The Giants, on the other hand, have experienced a much rockier start to their season 👀

  • New York was outscored by a whopping margin of 60-0 throughout the first six quarters of 2023

  • After getting routed by the juggernaut Cowboys and then going down 20-0 vs. the Cardinals, things were at an all-time low for the G-Men. However, Daniel Jones and co. rallied for a truly historic comeback to potentially save the season

Of course, New York will have their work cut out for them facing the loaded 49ers on a short week. San Francisco truly boasts an embarrassment of riches, and Brock Purdy is looking like the high-level QB that the 49ers have been coveting for years. With star RB Saquon Barkley confirmed out for this matchup, do the Giants stand a chance? The line says probably not 😬

  • Spread: 49ers -10.5

  • Moneyline: 49ers -550, Giants +410

  • Over/Under: 44

A Different Level

The emotions in the Giants’ locker room still have to be riding high after Sunday’s rollercoaster of a win. New York entered this season with considerable hype after a surprising playoff appearance and Wild Card win last year. The offseason addition of extremely talented TE Darren Waller was thought to bolster the offense’s explosiveness, only adding to the disappointment of a Week 1 shutout 😬

  • Waller bounced back in Week 2 with 6 catches for 76 yards. He now leads all TE’s in receiving yards

  • With Barkley out, New York will need a huge game from Waller and the rest of the receiving core. And while San Francisco is an entirely different beast, Daniel Jones looked up to the task of carrying the offense in the comeback

While the 49ers may be missing one of their own key weapons with WR Brandon Aiyuk potentially out, San Francisco’s roster is still vastly superior. Brock Purdy can spread the ball around to versatile receiver Deebo Samuel and franchise mainstay George Kittle, while Christian McCaffrey has opened the season looking like the league’s premiere running back. Cut off one head of the 49ers’ offense and two more pop up 😂

  • And we haven’t even discussed the defense, which has been its usual dominant self with star defensive end Nick Bosa back on a lucrative deal

  • The key for San Francisco in this one will be not playing down to the level of their competition, as they did vs. the Rams last week

The Niners have passed the Chiefs on some betting site as the Super Bowl favorites, but watch out for the Cowboys 👀

Trivia Question: Which of these two storied franchises has won more Super Bowls?

For My Parlay Gurus

The Giants may very well have saved their season last week, but this one is likely not going to be very close. However, I think Danny Dimes will perform well and cover this absurdly high spread. Look to the Giants to lose by a touchdown vs. this loaded 49ers squad 👇

  • Giants +10.5 @ 49ers: -118

  • Daniel Jones OVER 211.5 Passing Yards: -113
